ORLANDO, Fla. – For the first time in history a Filipino is taking the top post at the biggest association of theme parks in the world.

Enchanted Kingdom’s Mario Mamon is the first Asian and first Filipino to be named chairman of the board of the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions

The IAAPA is the largest international trade association for amusement facilities worldwide that is dedicated to the preservation and prosperity of the $24 billion amusement industry.

Mamon is the chairman and president of Enchanted Kingdom—the Philippine’s first and only world class theme park.

The 95 year-old IAAPA has more than 4,500 member companies in 90 nations.

He was inducted at a kick-off event held in Orlando, Fla. this Tuesday morning.

“It means so much because more than anything, this recognizes the capability of Filipinos in the amusement and attractions industry,” Mamon said.
