Pinoy inmate files complaint vs. sheriffs deputies behind alleged prison fight club

REDWOOD CITY, Calif. – A criminal complaint has been filed against the city and county of San Francisco by a Filipino former inmate who claimed sheriff deputies forced him and other inmates to fight one another gladiator style for money.

In a claim filed last week, Ricardo Palikiko-Garcia, along with two other former inmates, is accusing the San Francisco Sheriffs Department of cruel and unusual punishment and intentional infliction of emotional distress.

The inmates say they were forced to fight one another under threats of violence and sexual assault.

Palikiko-Garcia was the first inmate to come forward last March when he revealed that deputies forced him to fight a 350-pound inmate more than twice his size on two occasions.
