Pinoy found guilty for smuggling drugs to prisoners in Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS — A Pinoy former correctional officer was found guilty for smuggling drugs to prisoners in a high desert state prison.

25-year-old Filipino Hawaiian, Kaleo Ge-ji, was sentenced last Thursday for 18 months, up to 4 years. Ge-ji pleaded guilty to felony drug transport, and for providing controlled substances to inmates at the Clark County Detention Center.

Investigators heard prisoners talking on a monitored phone call about leaving money and drugs in a soft drink cup, near a northwest Las Vegas freeway.

Ge-ji was arrested in September, when he was caught picking up the cup on his way to work. Authorities seized 62 grams of methamphetamine in the arrest.
