REDWOOD CITY, Calif. – The highly awaited trial for the undocumented Filipino man in Ohio accused in a triple murder came to a quick conclusion on Tuesday.
Igmidio Mista, 34, was expected to stand trial in a Sandusky, Ohio court for killing three men and wounding a fourth during a shooting rampage inside a Fremont bar last March.
Investigators say Mista opened fire inside the bar after getting into a fight with other patrons.
Instead of standing trial, Mista accepted a plea deal for three counts of murder and one count of attempted murder.
The deal included the dismissal of one felonious assault charge and one charge of possessing a fire arm inside a bar.
The judge immediately handed Mista a lifetime prison sentence with eligibility for parole in 44 years when he’ll be 78.
he will get his green card before his first parole hearing
Immigrant advocate Kathy O’Leary needs to stay on top of this so that Mista will be released soon and that he is to be treated fairly while serving prison sentence. Additionally, Mista is not a threat to society…given the circumstances.
His gone he can kiss his rear end goodbye, he should have ask the judge if he can go back to Philippines and he wouldn’t come back to America forever? Ohio would have save money now they have to take care of him for life until he dies?
