A Filipino New Yorker is among the cast members of an epic Filipino hero film about to screen in September – “Goyo: Ang Batang Heneral” is a sequel to the 2015 hit indie movie: Heneral Luna, which made more than 250 million pesos at the box office.
It was the same audition that landed Carlo Cruz a role in the upcoming sequel.
“We’re all looking forward to how big the movie is, how big the sets are, the costumes… but I think what I love about the movie also is it’s a very internal type of film,” says Cruz. “It’s character driven. You see the humanity of individuals with challenges, flaws and weaknesses.”
Goyo will begin screening Sept. 5th.
