REDWOOD CITY, Calif. – 100 women from around the country are walking 100 miles on a pilgrimage from Pennsylvania to the nation’s capital to see the pope. Their final destination is Washington D.C.
Their goal is to see the pope and share a message: dignity for America’s immigrants.
The group “We Belong Together” organized the pilgrimage, which includes immigrant women from around the U.S.
Pinays from the Pilipino Worker Center in southern California are among those who joined the 100 mile march from Pennsylvania to DC.
Joining us via phone from Washington is one of nine Pinays who joined the march Myrla Baldonado, a coordinator of the Pilipino Workers Center.
