REDWOOD CITY, Calif. – Kung Hei Fat Choy, kapamilya!

If you haven’t started stocking up on your money filled red envelopes, there’s still time because Jan. 31 marks the beginning of the Lunar New Year.

This year marks the year of the horse, and the 15-day celebration will go until Valentine’s Day.

People born in horse years, which include this year, as well as 2002, 1990, 1978, 1966, 1954, 1942, 1930, and 1918, are described as energetic, intelligent, talented and entertaining.

Horses are also associated with success and cannot stand failure.

Some of the weaknesses of horses include a lack of constraint and, despite talent, horses can also be impatient.

Some of the most famous horses include history’s great literary and musical innovators William Shakespeare and Amadeus Mozart. Kobe Bryant, Eminem, and Scarlett Johansson are among other famous horses.

Many of us may be carrying a horse-year born person in our wallet.

George Washington, the first American president and face of the US dollar bill was also a horse.

For Filipinos, we do have one global icon who can be considered talented, entertaining, and he has admitted that his own impatience put him on the losing end of a devastating knockout punch.

Fighting congressman Manny Pacquiao was also born on a horse year.
