REDWOOD CITY, Calif.- The acclaimed Lav Diaz film “Norte, Hangganan Ng Kasaysayan” has been selected as the Philippines’ official entry to the 87th Academy Awards.
The Film Academy of the Philippines will submit the four-hour movie to compete in the Best Foreign Language Film category of the Oscars.
The movie has received praises from critics locally and internationally.
Norte is a historical drama set in Ilocos Norte.
The official nominees in this category will be announced in January 2015, with the awards ceremony scheduled on February 22.
