Philippines recalls envoys in Canada in spat over trash shipments

The Philippines recalled its envoys in Canada after it missed the deadline to take back Canadian trash that was shipped to Manila. Will this move result in soiled relations?

Global Affairs Canada today issued the following statement:

Canada values its deep and longstanding relationship with the Philippines.

Canada has repeatedly conveyed to the Philippines government its commitment to promptly ship and dispose of the Canadian waste in the Philippines. We remain committed to finalizing these arrangements for the return of the waste to Canada.

Canada is disappointed by this decision to recall the Philippines ambassador and consuls general. However, we will continue to closely engage with the Philippines to ensure a swift resolution of this important issue.

Instead of protesting about some really boring issues on election results, illegal immigration, and human rights violation that they ca never prove, it is imperative and would make a lot of sense for Bayan-USA or Anakbayan or Malaya to protest the Canadian low-down chicken shit shipment of thrash to the Philippines, says Jeremy Capuyon (Stockton Fil-Am member). The Canadian government knew all along about this shipment, if not, then what kind of government system are you running out there? What is going on in Canada eh? Are you going to let a few cigaweed smoking guys pack a few boxes under the guise of humanitarian aid then send it somewhere and turn a blind eye or deaf ears?
