Philippine concert king Martin Nievera headlines in Las Vegas

Philippine’s concert king is the first Filipino artist to headline The Joint, at Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Las Vegas. Fil-Ams and Asia’s nightingale were among the concert goers all in support for Martin Nievera.

“Its a true a honor, you know me,” said Nievera. “I’ll do anything with the Filipino people — if I can make you prouder of me, that’s why its called Amplified. I want the filipinos to be the Amplified version of themselves, not to hold back but to give it all, to be louder than you were before.”

Nievera joins the roster of major performers who played the 4,000 seat venue such as Guns and Roses, Imagine Dragons, and Journey.

Nievera, who is celebrating his 35th year in the entertainment industry,  is no stranger to Las Vegas  — as he has been a frequent performer at some of the major casino establishments in town.

“Now I love to perform at a drop of a hat,” he said. “I’ll sing basta maganda yung venue, maganda yung sounds and lights… Martin is there.”

Fans and concert goers say that they’ve been following Martin because of his songs and showmanship.

“I’ve been a fan of Martin since he started,” said concertgoer Gerald Gutierrez. “Actually I was in high school at that time that he sang the first song that he won during pop music festival, and so on and so forth.”

“Everytime I hear his music, everybody reminisces of the old days and we like that,” said Roselle Leonardo.

Las Vegas’ Siren of the Strip and frequent co-headliner of Martin, Lani Misalucha, is also in full support.

“Of course I’m happy for him, it’s embarassing kase I’ve been living here in Las Vegas for 13 years, it’s my first time to actually to go inside the hard rock,” said Misalucha. “Ang daming nagpunta na mga Pinoy, pero ang daming following ni martin na mga puti.”

The Martin Nievera and Lani Misalucha dynamic tandem will be on the road again for a series of concerts, this year on the west coast.
