Paras scores 30 as team heads to championship

REDWOOD CITY, Calif. – On to the finals for one of the most talked about Filipino high school students in the country as basketball phenom Kobe Paras scores 30 for his team.

Cathedral High School has advanced to Tuesday night’s San Fernando Invitational Tournament Championship Round.

They will take on Chaminade High School.

Paras scored 30 points in the semi-final as Cathedral beat Alemany High School 77 to 67. They led by as many 24 points in the second half of the semi-final game.

Kobe’s brother and model actor Andre Paras, who called himself Kobe’s number one fan on Instagram, was among those watching the victory.

The five day tournament features 20 teams from Southern California.

Cathedral which also features several top ranked players including Fil-Am Jameel Mcgill has blown out opponents by more than 20 points in the first three games.
