LOS ANGELES – Just around the corner from the very shopping center that has banned Manny Pacquiao twice in the past four years, the Filipino boxing champ got a hero’s welcome from over a hundred fans, as he did his weekend workout at a local park.
This was a different sentiment compared to the Grove’s ban on him. TMZ spotted Pacquiao and his entourage at the shopping center on Thursday. After they left, TMZ reported that the Grove re-issued their ban on the Pacman, over his recent comments against same-sex marriage.
The Grove temporarily banned him over similar comments in 2012.
While Pacquiao, who is running for the Philippine senate, has been mum the past week when it comes to political and social issues.
His team has responded to the ban.
In a statement, Pacquiao’s adviser Mike Koncz said, “It is America and the owner of the Grove is entitled to make that decision to ban Manny Pacquiao. However, it is a shame that he is punishing someone for expressing his religious beliefs.”
Despite those comments haunting him at a local mall, his friends and fans continue to stand by him, offering him support through prayers.
Meantime, the Pacman continues to look sharp in training camp. On Saturday an amped-up Lydell Rhodes came out the gym after the Pacman sparred a combined rounds with him and Ghislain Madumba.
Rhodes shared, “You all really know just a really good day today I another good workout. He was going hard today. Manny is feeling good strong. His counters are getting better and better.”
To cap it off, Pacquiao’s wife Jinkee and his kids arrived in Los Angeles on Sunday night.
Buti nga sa ‘yo Pakyu!! I hope you gonna loose!!
