As the 12 sitting senators in the Philippines are ready to welcome their 12 new members, one senator, the country’s “fighting senator” is set to get back in the boxing ring in Las Vegas soon.
Manny Pacquiao met the press in New York as he faced off with undefeated Kieth Thurman for the first time.
The Pacman says he’s eager to still prove his worth in the ring, and as well help out the new senators, especially the one he’s closest to.
“We are fighting an undeafetead opponent wall pa tong talk kayo mag butihan natin at pagkakataon na nation ito na ma prove nation na nandyan pa taco sa larangan ng boxing.”
When it comes to the new batch of senators that won in the recent midterm elections in the Philippines — Pacquiao says he’s happy with the results and even plans to teach newbie senator Bato dela Rosa on how to be a lawmaker.
Touted as “the biggest welterweight showdown of the summer” – Pacquiao vs. Thurman will go down at the MGM Garden Arena in Las Vegas on July 20th.
