REDWOOD CITY, Calif. – After years of failed negotiations, boxing icons Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr. finally met face to face but it wasn’t in the boxing ring, at least not yet.
Pacquiao and Mayweather separately attended an NBA game between the Milwaukee Bucks and Miami Heat at the American Airlines Arena in Miami.
During halftime, both men were then seen speaking to each other and exchanging phone numbers.
In an interview on DZMM on Wednesday afternoon, Pacquiao’s friend Bernard Cloma confirmed that Mayweather visited the Filipino boxer in his hotel room.
While he didn’t detail what the meeting was about, Cloma said the two boxers had a lengthy conversation.
According to promoter Bob Arum, Pacquiao had agreed to terms for a prospective may second fight against Mayweather and that they are waiting for Mayweather to make it official.
