LOS ANGELES – With their piles of balikbayan boxes and luggage Manny Pacquiao and his family are finally heading home.
Arriving two hours early for their flight Pacquiao went directly to the terminal gate escorted by rows of law enforcers who tried to control the crowd from getting near the people’s champ.
With his right arm still in a sling Pacquiao managed to shake a few hands and give a few high fives with his left but didn’t answer any questions from the media.
Pacquiao along with his wife and kids boarded the Philippine Airline plane late Monday night and are expected to arrive in Manila early Wednesday morning.
Pacquiao had been in the US since late February to train for his fight against Floyd Mayweather Jr.
The Pacman lost in the mega bout and his return home was delayed for several days after undergoing a successful procedure on his torn rotator cuff.
It’s unknown when and if Manny Pacquiao will return to the Los Angeles as a fighter.
Since the surgery the team has said boxing isn’t their priority.
For now they’re main focus is to rehabilitate his shoulder.
