REDWOOD CITY, Calif. – After their so-called “fight of the century” generated over half a billion dollars, it’s no surprise that boxers Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao were named by Forbes magazine as the world’s highest paid athletes of 2015.
Mayweather earned an estimated $300 million. His fight against Pacquiao last month brought in $240 million alone.
Number two on the list is Pacquiao with $160 million in the past year, including $125 million from his May 2 clash with Mayweather.
Pacquiao’s 2015 pay doubled Cristiano Ronaldo’s, who at just under $80 million came in third on the list.
