Obama rallies support for immigration plan in Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS – “Las Vegas, I come back to Del Sol to tell you that I will never give up,” said Obama to Del Sol High School in Las Vegas. “I will never give up. I will not give up.”

In a follow up to his Thursday announcement on immigration, President Obama immediately took action and kicked it off with a rally at Del Sol High School in Las Vegas.

“We are a nation of immigrations. That means that we are constantly being replenished with strivers who believe in the American dream, and it gives us a tremendous advantage over other nations,” said Obama.

President Obama reiterated that although this is just the first step, not everyone will qualify, and that there’s still a lot of work to be done.

“Let’s be clear what the deal is and what it isn’t,” said the US President. “This action doesn’t apply to anybody who come here recently or illegally in the future.”

“The message for the people who don’t qualify is get the Republican to pass the bill,” said Sen. Harry Reid, D-Nev. “As the president said, doing nothing is not amnesty, but something is amnesty.”

Undocumented Filipino and Pulitzer Award winner Jose Antonio Vargas was among the hundreds in attendance.

“It’s not perfect,” said Vargas. “Not everybody will be covered but at least he acted and the Congress has to act.”

Meantime, Senate Majority Floor Leader Harry Reid answered the Republicans’ lawsuit against the president – alleging that the Obama Administration abused its power by making unilateral changes to the implementation of the Affordable Care Act.

The legal action threatens not only the president’s healthcare overhaul, but could change the power of executive authority forever.

“I don’t take threats the Republicans are making,” said Sen. Reid.

While the president and his supporters in Congress are standing their ground.

This anti-Obama rally outside Del Sol High is indication that the fight is far from over.

Who is telling the truth, WH or Obama?.I had learned today from WH insider, Obama did not issue or signed an exec.order, he just talk about immigration reform, exec action is only a plan. Therefore, nothing was passed last Thursday, illegals had nothing to celebrate yet.Obama is just playing games again, trying to show,he is in control. He send a message to the GOP what he wants on immigration reform, he made only a political speech, this is a sign of frustations and shocked, from the defeat of the Democrats from the midterm election. GOP will officially take over the new Congress on Jan 1st.
