Obama approves $1.1 trillion government spending bill

This week, President Barack Obama signed off on a $1.1 trillion dollar spending bill.

That’s what it will take to run the US government through Sept. 30, 2015 – at least most of the government.

The only exception is the Department of Homeland Security, which oversees immigration enforcement. That department is only provided for through the end of February – when Republican leaders hope to revisit Obama’s executive action – to delay deportation for millions of undocumented immigrants.
