Top Rank CEO Bob Arum confirms exclusively to Balitang America that there is no rift between Top Rank and the Pacquiao camp.
“Yeah, it couldnt be better.. Manny is a great friend of ours. We both work together very very well, I think the world of manny but if various reasons the fight is not suitable to do here in Vegas. Trust me, it has nothing to do whatsoever to do with Top Rank, and Manny Pacquiao. There are other reasons why he couldnt commit to a fight on April 14th in Vegas. I’m not gonna go into that… But I know in confidence those reasons are.”
Meanwhile, Top Rank’s new Filipino protege Jerwin Ancajas is scheduled to fight again in April.
Ancajas will be fighting four times this year.
Arum says he is impressed with Ancajas’ boxing skills and believes that he has the potential to become one of boxing’s greats.
Ancajas won via TKO last February 3rd in Corpus Christi, Texas.
Ancajas now has a record of 29 wins and 1 loss.
