New York celebrates Pride, Stonewall 50th anniversary

NEW YORK — A major celebration of Pride took place over the weekend.

From honoring the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall Riots to embracing various gender identities and sexualities, tens of thousands of people from around the world flocked to the city to celebrate World Pride.

World Pride welcomed more than 150 organizations from across the globe, as crowds took on the streets of New York City, ending June Pride Month with the annual Pride parade.

On the stage, this year’s line-up also included legendary artists like Lady Gaga, Madonna, and Cyndi Lauper.
