SAN FRANCISCO – The San Francisco Philippine Consulate staff went through three days of training for the upcoming Philippine general election.
The staff had to familiarize themselves with the adoption of the automated election system modified postal voting.
An issue with some voters is the new requirement that voters must request for ballots instead of consulates mailing them out automatically to voters.
Eligible voters say it would be easier to retain the old system.
The Comelec is aware of this issue and can amend this new requirement.
All consulates are standing by for the confirmation from the Comelec to mail ballots to all eligible voters.
Voting is scheduled to take place from April 9th to May 9th, 2016.
