Nevada Filipinos join relief efforts for Mindanaoans affected by martial law

Kababayans in Las Vegas joined in the relief effort to raise funds for victims of the siege in Marawi, southern Philippines. The bayanihan spirit is truly alive in Sin City, as Pinoys from all walks of life joined together to help Mindanaoans affected by President Duterte’s martial law.

These Nevadan Filipinos say that they may be thousands of miles away from home, but their efforts to help displaced fellow kababayans in Marawi City is in progress.

“We just have to find out what they need, and then we’ll try what we can come up with, so we do like fundraising every week by the group, so we do medical mission outreach,” said Marian Pearson from the Philippine Bisayan Society of Nevada.
