REDWOOD CITY, Calif. – The list of retailers involved in last week’s massive recall of nearly nine million pounds of beef from California now includes close to a thousand retailers and involves at least one market chain patronized by Filipinos.

Six Southern California H Mart grocery stores were listed as having receiving diseased beef from Rancho Feeding Corporation in Petaluma.

The New Jersey-based H Mart specializes in providing Asian goods—including Filipino products.

The United States Department of Agriculture’s list included H Mart’s San Diego, Norwalk, Garden Grove, Oxnard, Irvine, and Whittier stores.

Balitang America attempted to contact managers at the affected H Mart stores. They were not immediately available for comment.
