The National Basketball Association (NBA) announced today that it will hold one of its eight preseason games in the Philippines in October, as reported on their official website.
The Houston Rockets, which may be lead by new hard-court sensation Jeremy Lin of the Houston Rockets, and the Indiana Pacers are scheduled to play on October 10 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena.
The game will mark the first time an NBA team has traveled to the Philippines since the then-Washington Bullets played against a Philippine Basketball Association All-Star team in 1979, according to the association.
The preseason games will also be held in Brazil and the and in the cities of Bilbao, Spain and Manchester, England.
