A Filipino murder suspect who lived in the San Francisco Bay Area was finally deported back to the Philippines to face charges against him.
Ezra Dave Maling is accused of strangling to death his live-in partner, Rebeny Vergara, in March 2003.
Thereafter, he fled for the U.S. and worked as a music director for the Bay International Church in Hayward, California, which sponsored his religious visa.
Church members eventually found out about his alleged crime in the Philippines.
In 2011, homeland security investigations was notified of a warrant for Maling.
In 2015, authorities arrested Maling.
It was only last Tuesday when he was deported back to the Philippines. He is now in the custody of the Philippine Bureau of Immigration and the Philippine National Police.
