LAS VEGAS, Nevada – After five months of training and an extensive diet regimen, Filipino-American Mark Muñoz is confident that his strength, speed and precision will prevail this Saturday as he faces off with Tim Boestch.
“[With] my conditioning, I’m just gonna keep coming at him. Also my transition from striking to wrestling and use angles, and use a lil bit more movements this time,” said Muñoz.
Muñoz exclusively reveals his “Donkey Kong” strategic plan that will put Boetsch to the canvass.
“Madali siyang saktan ang suntok ko t’saka ang sipa. I’m gonna do that… I’m gonna dish out more takedowns and on the ground. Everybody say that I look like Donkey Kong when I’m on the ground. I’m gonna play the Donkey Kong,” he said.
Muñoz added that just like any other sport, the ups and downs is also a familiar scene in the UFC world. But he assured his fans that he will continue to fight and go all out.
“Maraming maraming salamat sa inyong suporta for me. I’m a proud Pinoy so thank you so much and I’m gonna represent the flag and taas ang bandila sa Pilipinas. I’m gonna do that, and mahal ko kayong lahat,” he said.
Muñoz carries a record of 12 wins and 3 losses. His expertise in ground and pound will once again be tested this Sunday at the MGM Grand Garden Arena (Saturday Manila time).
Muñoz is also asking his kababayans from all over to pray for his victory as this is one of the most significant fights of his UFC career.
