Mixed reactions to Trump tweets, war on media, and vacation breaks
BEDMINSTER, NJ — President Donald Trump may be on vacation, but his Twitter account is not.
The president who is taking a 17-day break at his Bedminster golf club, often criticized his predecessor Barack Obama’s golfing and vacations.
On Monday, Trump tweeted that he was “working hard from New Jersey,” while the White House undergoes renovations.
Earlier, he also tweeted that “this is not a vacation – meetings and calls!”
While on his first extended break since taking office six months ago, construction crews are making renovations to some parts of the White House.
This late night show host reminded the President of his past tweets attacking then President Obama, who was taking some time off from work.
He actually Tweeted, “Why is Barack Obama always campaigning or on vacation? .. President Obama’s vacation is costing tax payers millions of dollars – unbelievable! Can you believe that with all the problems and difficulties facing the US, President Obama spent the day playing golf. Worse than Carter…”
These Filipinos in Orlando, Florida have mixed reactions.
“I think that it doesn’t really matter if he takes 20 or 50 vacations, as long as he is doing his job,” said Trump supporter, John Cardino. “It’s part of the campaign before, he needs to win, now he’s winning, I think what’s important is he do his job.”
“Although ipinangako niya, sinisiraan niya si Obama, that time kailangan niyang mag promise sa taong bayan para manalo siya, para bumango siya, andudun na siya eh ano pa ang magagawa ng taong bayan, presidente na siya — magagawa niya lahat ng gusto niya kasi may pera siya,” said Obama supporter Roel Diaz.
