Missing Pinoy swept away in river found dead

Tragic news from north of Sacramento, California, where authorities there say they a body found Monday in Placer County’s American River is likely to be that of missing Fil-Am teen Ray Cabalfin.

According to Ray’s family, they received a call Monday evening from placer county sheriff’s officials informing them that two hikers found his body 3 miles downstream from where he was last seen.

Dramatic video captures the moments in which Cabalfin was swept away by the American River’s currents on May 11th, after jumping into it near Clark’s Pool in Auburn.

While the Placer County Coroner’s division says the body is still pending identification, authorities say they are “99 percent sure that the body found is him.”
