In Southern California, a months-long search for two missing hikers ended in tragedy, after a pair of bodies were found locked in an embrace on Sunday at Joshua Tree National Park.
One of the bodies is believed to be that of 21-year-old Fil-Am Joseph Orbeso from Lakewood.
Orbeso and his friend Rachel Wen were last seen on July 27th. Their vehicle was later found near the park’s maze loop.
After extensive searches and even a $10,000 reward for any information, Orbeso’s father Gilber,t along with a search and rescue team, found the remains on Sunday.
While formal identification still pends from the coroner, Orbeso’s father told a local news station on Monday, “We know we found them.”
