NEW YORK CITY — Miss World 2013 Megan Young signed a five-year talent agency contract with Innovative Artists, at its New York City headquarters.
“I’m very excited and nervous but it’s a good nervous so okay lang,” said Young.
Executives Maury Dimauro and Scott Kenyon, along with Megan’s Philippine talent agent, were present during the contract signing.
“Megan is a new artist of this agency,” said ALV Productions Arnold Vegafria. “Tutulong kay megan on her new journey to penetrate Hollywood, the United States, Europe.”
“I hope that this opportunity for me opens a lot of doors… not only for me, but for others sa parang foot in the door para sa atin,” said Young. “Kasi diba maraming artista galing sa ibang bansa nakapunta na sa Hollywood, sana sa Filipino din ganon din mangyari.”
The process of sealing the deal for Megan Young between the two talent agencies was fast, as it only took two months to reach an agreement.
“They want to open doors to an Asian artist, which is yung beauty niya ay pasok. Not only the beauty, but also the talent. Most important sa kanila yung talent than x factor.”
Prior to winning Miss World, Megan Young took on acting and hosting roles on philippine television, including in ABS-CBN’s “Maalala Mo Kaya” and ASAP.
Megan will dive into different types of preparations, workshops, and trainings to aid her in this new undertaking.
“Gusto kong paghirapan,” she says. “I know I have to start from the ground up, so back to zero ako dito. I don’t mind. It’s a good opportunity.
She heads back to the Philippines to attend to her commitments, and hopes to be back to New York in the summer.
“I see myself living in the city, having my own apartment… tapos biglang mamaya may work na kong gagawin. Yun yung mga navivisualize ko na living the life that so many people dream of.”
“Medyo natatakot ako sa totoo lang. But for me there’s nothing to lose. The only thing that I have to lose is not to try and I don’t want that to happen.”
From the world stage to the New York stage, Megan Young is now all set to take on the challenges and joys of this new season in her career.
