Miss Universe 2017 thanks her Filipino fans
NEW YORK — Newly crowned Miss Universe Demi Leigh Nel-Peters is now ready to fulfill her duties as the reigning queen.
“My biggest goal for this year is to be the best Miss Universe that I can possibly be, I want to make sure that I stay true to who I am, I wanna make sure I always bring a little piece of demi to the table.”
But first she wants to conquer the concrete jungle and be a proper tourist in the Big Apple.
In a recent tweet, Peters says she fell in love withPinayy beauty queen 2015 Miss Universe Pia Wurtzbach – and they share similar advocacies.
The South African beauty queen says she had a great time with Miss Universe Philippines Rachel Peters…
“Sshe’s such a great girl, such a gentle soul, and the Philippines can be so proud of Rachel she really competed so well, she was always on point, always gave her best. Philippines… you can be so proud of Rachel.”
Nel-Peters, together with a dozen other beauty queens are set to visit the Philippines soon.
“I look forward to experiencing the Filipino culture in person, what I’ve seen on social media, and the support I’ve been getting from Filipino supporters are just incredible, such passionate people and I love that.”
The new Miss Universe has this message for her Filipino fans.
“Hey everyone, Demi here, I would just like to say thank you very much for all your support. You have been there even before I was crowned, a lot of you, thank you for following my journey for staying in touch and for all the direct messages and comments I’ve been receiving. Thank you, I can’t wait to share this magical journey with you all…”
Wurtzbach and Peters may end up working together at the Miss Universe office or even share the Miss Universe apartment at one point as the third Filipina Miss Universe will continue to work for the organization as ambassador.
