REDWOOD CITY, Calif. – For our kapamilyas in the upper Midwest region of the country, it’s time to bundle up.

The coldest air of the season is expected to slam about 42 states this week with some 200 million people affected by the cold.

The freezing storm moving from Alaska threatens to drop temperatures in the plains and Midwest to as low as 40 degrees below average.

Weather experts say the storm could dump up to 20 inches of snow on the region by Wednesday.

North Dakota, South Dakota, and Minnesota already received six inches of snow by Monday.

A winter storm warning is in effect for parts of Michigan and Wisconsin, Minnesota, the Dakotas, and into the Rockies.
