Fil-Am actor Darren Criss won over Matthew McConaughey, Benedict Cumberbatch, Michael Douglas and several others for Gold Derby TV’s best TV miniseries actor of the decade.
The popular awards prediction and entertainment website gave him the honor for “American Crime Story: The Assassination of Gianni Versace,” in which his performance as serial killer Andrew Cunanan also received grand slam wins at the Emmys, the Golden Globes, and SAD awards.
Criss is also flying high due to the upcoming release of “Midway,” his first big action movie, where he plays a pilot — real-life hero Lt. Commander Eugene Lindsey, one of the American soldiers who gave his all for the country in the aftermath of the Japanese Pearl Harbor attacks.
The Filipino-American actor said “Midway” opened his eyes to the Philippines’ complicated history with Japan and America.
