One of the world’s most high profile Filipino-Americans has made an international plea to help his mother’s homeland.
Erik Spoelstra, the head coach of two-time defending National Basketball Association champions Miami Heat has teamed with UNICEF to help aid victims of Typhoon Yolanda.
Coach Spo’s mother hails from Laguna and he has visited the Philippines four times in the past five years.
Spoelstra even added a Tagalog touch to his call for help, saying “Maraming, salamat po”.
