OXON HILLS, MD — A Filipino-American in Maryland is living proof that with hard work and determination – plus bags and bags and bags of chicharrón – the American Dream is his today.
Who would have thought this Filipino man’s journey to achieve the American dream all started with bags of chicharrón?
Meet businessman “Tito Al”– a former Philippine constabulary officer, Arsenio Alpapara, who immigrated to the U.S. back in 1979.
He started his own buy and sell business, and struck gold selling a Filipino favorite snack.
From 5 Filipino clients, his product distribution network has grown to more than 500 stores, groceries, and U.S. military commissaries.
“Tito Al’s” is now a $10 million business.
