DALY CITY — With an all-star line-up headlined by boxing champion Manny Pacquiao and multi-Grammy award winner Apl.De.Ap — the Los Angeles Clippers will host their Filipino Heritage Night as they take on the Charlotte Hornets.

Roslynn Cobarrubias is among those making this event possible, which will feature many Filipino artists, musicians, businessmen and influencers, along with Apl– from Jasmine V and Lianne V, the Basco Brothers, and P-Lo.

Following the Clippers/Hornets match-up will be a special Filipino Heritage Night on-court basketball game featuring Pinoy celebrities and influence makers separated into team Apl and team E-Man, legendary DJ based in Southern California.

Filipino heritage nights are not just exclusive to basketball.

For the past 10 years, they have grown from Bay Area teams to Southern California to the Midwest and the East Coast.

Cobarrubias says that the US market is finally starting to understand the influence and strength of Filipinos.

“It’s putting together a community of people and understanding our power and helping one another and showing our buying power … Filipinos spend the most when it comes to entertainment.”

According to Cobarrubias — acquiring Pinoy talent will not just be exclusive to Filipino heritage night but will soon be on display on more mainstream events.
