Mayweather Sr. neither confirms nor denies possible fight between son and Pacquiao

LAS VEGAS, Nev. – Pacquiao’s victory over the weekend against American boxer Chris Algieri caught the attention of millions of fight fans from all over the world.

Now that the Algieri fight is over everyone wants to see a Pacquiao-Mayweather dream match.

This includes United States senate majority floor leader Harry Reid.

“We will have this fight with Mayweather someday,” said Reid. “Manny is a wonderful human being. He is a very devout religious man. He trains very hard. He takes care of his family and I admire him very much.”

Reid adds a Pacquiao-Mayweather bout will be the fight of the century if it pushes through.

But in an exclusive interview with ABS-CBN news North America bureau, Floyd Mayweather Sr. says he doesn’t want to meddle with his son’s business and that he didn’t watch the Pacquiao-Algieri fight.

“I want to be honest with you. I didn’t even see it,” said Mayweather Sr. “I could’ve watch it but I didn’t. The guy just ran and the guy got knocked down six or seven times.”

When asked if his son will fight the people’s champ this is what Mayweather Sr. had to say: “well when it comes, it comes. When it don’t comes, it don’t comes. The fight, that maybe, would’ve, could’ve, might happen.”

He adds that “if they fight they fight. Manny is his own man. Floyd is his own man.”

Talk of a Pacquiao-Mayweather fight has been going on for years but up to now it remains far from reality since both camps fail to see eye to eye on the fight terms.
