Martinez pulls out of U.S. competition amid health concerns

GLENDALE, Calif. – Last minute change of plans for the Philippines ice prince after a bout with acute asthma Michael Martinez has withdrawn from this week’s U.S. International Figure Skating Classic in Utah.

Martinez believes the severe heat wave may have triggered the asthma.

He officially withdrew from the competition on Monday after doctors gave him stronger asthma medication.

His next competition is scheduled for October 8th in Finland.
