REDWOOD CITY, Calif. – In New York, the secretary of former Philippine First Lady Imelda Marcos, was convicted in an art scheme.
75-year old Vilma Bautista was convicted of conspiracy for keeping and attempting to sell millions of dollars worth of artwork that she knew were stolen.
The art pieces included works of artist like Monet, Alfred Sisley and Albert Marquet, which were acquired by the former First Lady during the Marcos regime.
However, no charges were filed against Mrs. Marcos.
Bautista faces eight years to 25 years in prison.
