Manny the Movie Guy reviews ‘American Pastoral’ and ‘Denial’

REDWOOD CITY, Calif. – Secrets and drama makes for a juicy and dramatic film and Manny the Movie Guy shows us two dramatic films that provide just that.
“American Pastoral”, starring Jennifer Connelly and Ewan McGregor, tells the tale of a man named Seymour Levov (McGregor) who thought he was living the American dream until his daughter (played by Dakota Fanning) becomes engaged in political terrorism. His life spirals into turmoil as his daughter’s actions threaten to tear their family apart.
The movie “Denial” is based on a real life court case between an American historian and Holocaust denier who’s case captured the attention of the world. Rachel Weisz stars as Deborah Lipstadt who takes famous Holocaust denier, David Irving (played by Timothy Spall) to court when Irving accuses Lipstadt of libel. It’s then up to Lipstadt to prove Irving of his lies and accusations.
