Boxing fans may soon red-letter a day in September for Manny Pacquiao’s reported return to the ring.
Quoting the Manila Standard, Forbes magazine reported that Pacquiao is eyeing a bout date in September, close to year after his knockout defeat in the hands of Juan Manuel Marquez last December. His possible opponent, as well as the fight venue remains unclear.
The report also said that Marquez does not want to fight Pacquiao again, while Top Ranks’ Bob Arum has said that Macau is being considered a destination for the fight.
Pacquiao is believed to be going to Macau next week to watch Brian Viloria headline Top Rank’s boxing event.
Marquez is expected to attend as well, where the two rivals will meet with Bob Arum.
