BAY AREA — How about chowing down on an array of adobo dishes for a good cause?
A restaurant serving the San Francisco community for over a hundred years — which is now owned by a Filipina American — is doing just that through an Adobo Cook-Off Contest.
It’s all part of the annual adobo cook-off at the historic 7 Mile House.
“This is the third year and every year we give 100% to the nonprofit for two hours. And we’re so happy that it just gets bigger and bigger and bigger,” said owner Vanessa Garcia.
The cook-off is not just to promote Filipino food — but to also help local organizations.
This year, 7 Mile House has chosen to support “Entrepinays,” which is an online community of Filipina entrepreneurs aimed to build a network of support and inspiration.
