Las Vegas officers increase safety measures, crowd control for New Year’s

LAS VEGAS — In a few days, America will count down to 2019.

In the “party capital of the world,” Vegas tourism officials are expecting hundreds of thousands of visitors for the celebration. Local law enforcement will be working closely with Homeland Security and public safety officers to ensure the safety of visitors, in and around the casino resorts.

“With a crowd of that size, this is an all-hands-on-deck approach,” said Clark County Sheriff Joe Lombardo.
