LAS VEGAS, NV — Hollywood’s biggest stars came out in full force for CinemaCon 2017, to highlight this year’s most anticipated movies.
“Jurassic World” and “Star Wars: Episode 9” director Colin Trevorrow gave us a brief synopsis of his movie “The Book of Henry.”
“I hope this movie will go to the Philippines,” he says. “I hope it will be enjoyed there. I’ve always wanted to visit there… it’s a movie that will play all over the world, because it has set a values that everybody could agree on, no matter what they believed.”
Naomi Watts, who plays as a single mother in “The Book of Henry,” is also excited.
“I’m excited to be here and share the film for the first time. I hope you enjoy this movie in the Philippines,” she says.
Kirsten Dunst, Nicole Kidman and Elle Fanning star in “The Beguiled” — a seductive drama from acclaimed writer-director Sofia Coppola.
The story unfolds at a Southern girls’ boarding school during the American Civil War.
Meanwhile, Dunst, who served as a jury at the 2016 cannes film festival, was all praises for Filipina actress Jaclyn Jose.
Writer-director Sofia Coppola reminisced about her memories of the Philippines, which she once visited with his dad during the filming of the classic “Apocalypse Now.”
“[Philippines is] a country of beautiful culture and people, and I have nice memories there of being as a child,” she says.
Irish actor Collin Farrell is part of the main cast.
Farrell couldn’t help but laud Filipino nurses and healthcare workers working in Ireland.
“If it wasn’t for the Filipino [nurses] in Ireland, the care in our country wouldn’t be as significant and profound as it is for a lot of people.”
Another anticipated film, “Atomic Blonde,” starring Charlize Theron will be out in theaters this summer.
CinemaCon has grown into film mecca, where dozen of celebrities from Hollywood comes to celebrate their roles in upcoming movies.
They too hope that movie theater owners will book their movies on their screens worldwide.
