LA fans gather to mourn, celebrate the passing of music icon Prince

LOS ANGELES – Parties, prayers all for Prince.  Los Angeles celebrated the late entertainer with a rally in Leimert Park on Thursday night, hours after he was found dead in his Minnesota home. 


Some wore their best purple outfit. Others brought their posters.  While one musician made it rain with his drum set at the back of his truck. 


Fans remembered more than just a musician. They celebrated a trend setter as well as an activist.


While the mood was festive, many were left in tears, wondering how the once-vibrant 57-year old could die suddenly in his Minnesota home.


The death of the icon caused it to rain people not just in Los Angeles, but in other parts of America as well. City halls, stadiums, arenas and showbiz landmarks turned their lights to purple.
