A Kentucky man accused in a murder-for-hire plot, who is in Philippine custody, is fighting extradition.
39-year-old Antonio Marsonel Wilson was indicted for the February death of his girlfriend’s father, Smajo Miropiha.
The indictment, which includes other charges related to the murder plot, says Miropiha’s body was found severely burnt, and the death was in retaliation to a physical fight between him and Wilson.
Wilson fled to the Philippines during the investigation, and was arrested last March.
However, prosecutors say he is challenging the extradition.
Wilson has been accused of hiring Jeffrey Smith to kill Miropiha.
Wilson and Smith are due in court next month.
