As Manny Pacquiao shared a few laughs on his media day, his opponent Keith Thurman was across the county in Florida, sounding a little more serious.
One time held his media day in Tampa, and thoughout his ring workout, he was talkative touching on any subject, including his diet.
The undefeated 30-year-old told reporters that he was looking for the knockout, and has been scoring many of the Pacman’s past fight.
After a layoff of nearly two years, due to injury, Thurman is calling this a comeback year, and is already eyeing other welterweights like Errol Spence.
PBC’s Leonard Ellerbe also praised the undefeated American for his showmanship.
The Pacman has said that the vocal American’s trash talk has only motivated him even more during the camp.
“Dito maturuan natin si thurman paano na respecto sa atin bansa kamao at ginagalangan natin senator sa larangan ng boxing. Ang imports dun wag dayo mag padala kung sinasabi ni thurman at tsaka wag natiniunderestimate kasi magaling din yun. Mag ensayo din sila ma ayos but pinakitang ng atin bangsang kamaomagandang laban to,” said Buboy Fernandez.
And the camp was in high spirits on Thursday during the 8 round sparring session, with professional hockey players from the LA Kings watching.
Soon there will be no need for whiteboards and talking through the media when both the Pacman and Thurman finally see each other face to face at Tuesday’s grand arrival.
