It’s Filipino Heritage Month — and prime minister Justin Trudeau is also celebrating.
Trudeau took to Facebook last Friday to showcase his recent visit to a local Pinoy eatery, accompanied by Scarborough Centre member of parliament Salma Zahid.
In 2018, Zahid sponsored the motion to declare June as Filipino Heritage Month in Canada, making this the first year that it is nationally celebrated and recognized.
However, this isn’t the first time that the prime minister has taken part in celebrating Philippine heritage.
Back in 2016, he was seen partying with Pinoys in Toronto, where he cooked up some Pinoy barbeque.
