The RP is in the frontline defending the democratic free world against communism. Red China thinks that it now has the wealth and military power to take the next steps in its goal for world domination after its successes in Turkmenistan (which they now name as Xinjiang and Tibet. The West Philippine Sea debacle is not “pag-aagawan for some rocks and islands” between the two countries as described in media, be it in Philippines or outside. If China gets to control the WPS, besides gaining strategic territory, the nourishment that they could suck from it would be enormous and so will their power – and threat to the non-communist countries, esp. the ones within the immediate vicinity, and later, even the farther ones. You know which country is the bastion and main obstacle for any country that is in a hegemonistic path and wants to supplant the current free and democratic way of life. Now, the RP has a noticeable military modernization effort, however, it is feeble and quite anemic in funding. That is why the RP has to be helped by the U.S.A. and other friendly countries.

For info the US Forces is already in the area and not necessarily be in Scarborough shoal and it’s within reach of the US Forces be it in the Air, Sea and Land. So there’s no need to fund them and they have funds already and in the area. Think about that ok!
