LOS ANGELES–After nearly three months of negotiation Senate leaders finally introduced a comprehensive immigration reform bill which received mixed reactions from the immigrant community.

Dreamers, day laborers and undocumented families expressed their cautious optimism on the proposed immigration reform bill on Wednesday morning at their forum in Los Angeles.

“ Based on our own criteria, we will evaluate this bill to see if it stops deportations, if it protects workers and civil rights and to make sure it includes 11 million people.
Otherwise it will not work, “ said Pablo Alvarado,
Director National Day Laborer Organizing Network.

The undocumented youth, known mostly as “Dreamers”, said they believe they may have been the biggest winners of the bill. They said they are happy the now have a better chance on becoming legal here in the U.S.

“I think it’s great all our hard work and the power we built as undocumented youth have kind of shown in this immigration bill,” said Anthony Ng
Dream Team LA.

Advocates said they will analyze the 800-plus page proposal and continue fighting for what they believe is fair immigration reform

The Senate Judiciary Committee have hearings scheduled later this week on the bill while immigrant rights advocates are calling on the president to immediately stop deportations of people who may benefit from the overhaul.

well, who rules here, the illegal alien slobberers or the lawmakers. these bunch of illegal alien lovers have become over bearing militants with their threats of its my way or the highway, with obama on the lead? the out of control tactics, what? to be sure to include 11 million illegal aliens?, too disgusting for these illegal aliens forgetting they are criminals, with deportations long overdue, millions will qualify on this category. the country are legalizing these bullies? so what’s next, turn this nation without rule of laws, everything goes without boundaries and restraint to become shoddy, third world america is what the future holds, if these lawmaker politicians are only for themselves, without conscience of choice of what are best, good and right for the USA.
